A collision involving three vehicles that occurred on Wednesday afternoon, October 16, 2024, close to Orange Cove resulted in the death of a woman. A collision complaint was received on Hills Valley Road, just north of Manning Avenue, at approximately 4:50 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officers responded to the scene of the traffic accident. According to the statements made by witnesses and investigators, a guy who was driving a Toyota Corolla in the northbound direction was attempting to pass other vehicles when he collided with a GMC that was being driven by a lady who was 25 years old and was travelling in the southbound direction.
An attempt was made by the GMC to escape the collision by swerving, but the driver lost control of the vehicle, which led to a collision with the Corolla. A third car, driven by a man who was 44 years old, collided with the GMC after it had turned to the side and collided with it.
Due to her injuries, the woman who was driving the GMC passed away. With moderate injuries, the male driver of the third vehicle, who was 44 years old, was sent to Community Regional Medical Centre for treatment.
Following the collision, the California Highway Patrol briefly shut down Hills Valley Road in order to conduct an investigation and clean up the scene. According to the evidence, the accident was not caused by any substances, including alcohol, drugs, or the weather circumstances.
Fresno County Sheriff’s Department continued their investigation into the incident as the body of the woman was taken by the Tulare County Coroner.
